More about Isabella

How did you get into software?

Growing up, my brothers and I were always curious about technology. We would fight over computer time, so I used to value every precious second I got. I remember always seeking to find out how to fix and make things work by myself.

As I got closer to college, I was still very interested in problem solving, and even considered Design as a career. Then, I had a cousin who moved in with us for a while and was majoring in Computer Science. This close contact with what he was working on helped me find what I was looking for: a combination of solving, building and creativity.

Why are you at Resend?

I've known Resend since it first launched, and it's been a place that gave a name to a lot of things I believed in when talking about building software. I've become a huge fan of the care the Resend team puts into crafting the best product possible for their users.

I joined Resend because I'm also passionate about building things that impact real people, and I couldn't be more excited to be contributing to this journey.

Where do you find #inspiration?

I believe inspiration and creativity flow from different places, and art of any kind is one of the most powerful sources. I love to go to museums, concerts and cultural events.

I also love to be in touch with friends and family, and I find a lot of inspiration in conversations and their different perspectives of life.

If you weren't programming, what would you be doing?

I'm fascinated by music, so if I had to do something else, I would try something related to music production.

If that didn't work, I have also always wanted to know what it's like to be a professional athlete and make it to the Olympics.

What does your desktop/home screen look like?

Spirited Away is my favorite movie of all time, so I love having some little details of it around me!

Favorite tool?

I love taking notes with Obsidian. It's a simple yet powerful app that helps me organize my thoughts and studies.

Favorite hotkey?

Command + Shift + 5. I use it to take screenshots (of various sizes) for everything.

Favorite place to visit?

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

It's where I'm from, where my family lives, and where many of my memories are. I love to visit whenever I can!

Advice for ambitious software engineers?

Building software is a powerful way to impact people by itself. But combining it with a team of people that share the same vision is a superpower.

Connect, learn and grow together, because at the end of the day, it's all about the people.
